Universal J-37808-A is used to simulate thee electrical characteristics of the Supplemental Inflatible Restraint System. The main components of the tool are a circuit for the the inflator simulation circuit for column simulation and connector body for opening the shorting bar at the Diagnostic Eneregy Reserve Module (DERM).
The J-37808-A is equipped with connectors to mate the SIR connectors at Steering Wheel and the base of the column. All items are packaged in a plastic storage case with an internal face panel which identifies each component.
